The non-profit ICAN (Irvington Community Advocacy Network) organization serves primarily Irvington area clients with potential financial assistance for rent, utilities and/or other referrals through the Assistance Center and provides clothing through the Emerson Ave.Clothing Closet.  ICAN and the Affiliated Ministries, which encompasses the Food Pantry at Downey Ave. and Hope Counseling Ministries, are all supported by individuals and local Irvington churches.

The ICAN Food Pantry at Downey Ave. has served the Irvington area and beyond since the late 80’s reaching over 500 people each month.

Pantry Hours:  
Each Thursday (except holidays) 1:00-3:00 PM.
Entry at Hibben St.

State Street     – West

I-465                – East

21st Street       – North

Southeastern  – South

The pantry is handicap accessible. Patrons can visit once a month.

By simply using your Kroger Plus card when you shop, the Kroger Community Rewards program will donate a percentage of grocery sales to the ICAN Food Pantry! Pick up a new Kroger Plus card or use your existing card and register it on line at: krogercommunityrewards.com

Once registered, you can link the card to the ICAN Food Pantry from the Kroger Community Rewards page:
Enter NPO number 30949 or name of organization by selecting ICAN Food Pantry at Downey Avenue Christian Church from the list and click Confirm.
